On Mondays, my mail and packages were getting thrown on the ground behind the wheel of my car. I went out and caught the carrier in the act this past Monday and asked her to put my mail in a choice of two locations. Once she left I called and made a complaint with her office. I have a dog which is kept indoors. She’s only ever seen this dog once over the life of that route. The one time she saw him was months ago and he was leashed and within my control. Once I complained about my mail being on the ground, I was informed that she would no longer be delivering my packages. She was “Afraid for her safety”. I have never had anyone say a word to us that there was an issue with our inside dog....which she wouldn’t even know I owned had she not got a glimpse of him months prior. Now because she claims she’s afraid of my dog, she is allowed to curtail our packages that won’t fit into the box. I have at least 4-5 daily. I offered to remove the dog from my property (just to see if even that extreme would be enough)...it did not good. Because I dared to call and complain that my mail was being thrown on the ground....and she claimed she didn’t do so, I’m now being acted upon out of pure spite or vengeance because I lodged a complaint. My dog has been here longer than she’s had the route. She never ONCE said anything about the dog....she did NOT even encounter to SEE or HEAR a dog that day (dog wasn’t even here that day , she was at doggie daycare and I have receipts that are dated)...so because the carrier has made this claim (after I called her out with her boss for throwing my mail on the ground) I can’t get packages delivered. The postmaster himself told me it would be taken care of..he’s out on sick leave. The manager below him tells us it won’t be, regardless of what we have been told. It’s he said she said and unless I have a photo or video of her throwing my mail. I’m out of luck? This is no way to do business. Just because someone knows a dog merely exists in my home doesn’t mean they should be able to discriminate. What is confusing is how the dog even became a part of this. This was about my mail being thrown on the ground.....the dog only came into play because it’s the excuse the carrier is using to stay out of trouble and make my mail collection a headache. I’m sure they are all having a good laugh over it but it’s beyond package delivery at this point for me and I’m going to use every available option available to me to try and get this settled. I should not have to collect my mail at the post office because I complained about my mail being thrown on the ground behind the wheel of a truck. My dog is a non issue because she didn’t encounter a dog. I can prove that with receipts.
