Hours of Operation
I have come to the conclusion, over the past two decades, that the postal carriers who work out of the USPS Milan Station on Colley Ave. in Norfolk, VA, are so delicate that they simply cannot deliver the mail in a timely fashion if it's too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry, too humid, or too sunny. I have lived within the Milan Station delivery zip code for 40 years and, although it's delivery practices have never been that efficient, it has certainly gone downhill since the new branch opened a few years ago. I have not received any mail in a week and that has never happened before--but then again, it has been a bit rainy, or a bit too hot and humid. It appears that the mail carriers have decided they don't have to fulfill their duties if they choose not to and they evidently choose not to quite often. Yet, the USPS consistently raises the prices for the "lack of service" at least twice a year. So, we end up paying much more for much less service than we deserve.
